PRICKLY PEARS

PRICKLY PEARS (SALE BY WEIGHT) The fruits are of various colors ranging from yellow to orange, but also to fuchsia. Their shape is round and even if slightly elongated, they are rich in thorns which do not make it a particularly comfortable fruit to peel and eat. However, once peeled it will be worth it, because these fruits are very tasty and rich in water, vitamins, sugars and minerals.

The tenerumi, children of the Lagenaria longissima courgette, lend themselves perfectly to being cooked as a normal green side dish, seasoned with oil and lemon, but they are also excellent as a condiment for pasta, both in white and with tomato sauce.

VIOLET EGGPLANT OF FIRST CHOICE SICILIAN (SALE BY WEIGHT) This type of round aubergine is particularly sweet and therefore ideal for delicate and elegant dishes. Furthermore, the compactness of the pulp makes it an ideal compendium during frying to obtain greater softness in the final product. They are excellent diced and cooked in a pan with parsley and extra virgin olive oil. They are also very good stuffed with pizzaiola or with cherry tomatoes and basil once blanched and then slightly soured by a dip of white wine vinegar.
